20 reliable and value-driven automated payment gateway platforms and card processing companies driving Nigeria’s economic growth

To Celebrate the 20 reliable and value driven business leaders of Automated Payment gateway platform and card processing companies driving Nigerians economic growth, Chioma Kachi Ewelike sat with the professional par excellence in person of Ayo Adeluka, Managing Director of Payzeep, to discuss his journey in becoming a business icon.

Tell us about yourself and your journey

Thank you. My journey has always been driven by curiosity, not just about technology, but about people and how they interact with it. I started out trying to solve everyday problems, especially around payments, which can be stressful in Nigeria. You think a transaction has gone through, but the vendor hasn’t seen it. That gap between intent and outcome is what first drew me to fintech.

Over time, I found myself deeply immersed in the space, learning through experience, late nights, and plenty of trial and error. What has kept me going is a simple focus: making technology work better for people who don’t have time for complications. Becoming a “leading figure” was never the goal—it’s been the result of consistency, resilience, and a passion for building solutions that genuinely improve lives

At payZeep, a proud subsidiary of Cavista Holdings, I have the privilege of leading a team that turns that vision into reality every single day. Our Chairman, Mr. Niyi Olajide, continues to inspire us with his belief that innovation and empathy can coexist at scale, a principle that guides everything we do.

What makes payZeep unique in ensuring value across different client engagements?

At payZeep , we blend innovation with empathy. We’re not just providing technology; we’re building trust. From market traders in rural communities to large merchants in cities, we design solutions that adapt to each customer’s reality.

Our services cover the full payments ecosystem, from agency banking and POS terminals to payment processing and gateway solutions. But what truly sets us apart is our approach. We don’t just deploy systems; we stay involved. Whether it’s a tech company integrating our API or a driver trying to accept card payments, we treat them as partners, not just clients.

Under the Cavista Holdings umbrella, we leverage shared infrastructure and global expertise to deliver affordable, secure, and seamless payment experiences. In every interaction with agents, merchants, or end users, our goal is the same: make payments simple, reliable, and human.

What is your approach to talent development and building a strong team at payZeep ?

Our people are the foundation of everything we do. I believe culture builds people, and people build the company. That’s why we focus on creating an environment where our team feels empowered to learn, innovate, and grow.

We hire for curiosity, not just credentials, because fintech moves too fast for anyone to stay in a single lane. New hires are encouraged to take ownership from day one to think like creators, not clock-watchers. Through mentorship, continuous training, and collaboration across Cavista’s global network, we equip our team to experiment boldly while staying accountable.

The goal is simple: build confident, kind professionals who take pride in creating impact, not just technical experts.

Given the peculiarities of the Nigerian business environment, what challenges have you faced, and how have you addressed them?

There’s no denying that doing business in Nigeria comes with challenges, from inconsistent infrastructure and network reliability to evolving regulatory frameworks. But at payZeep , we see these as opportunities to innovate.

We’ve built resilient systems that can operate even in low-connectivity environments and diversified our payment rails so that one point of failure never disrupts the entire process. We also maintain strong relationships with regulators, partners, and financial institutions to ensure compliance and shared progress.

Most importantly, we’ve learned patience and adaptability. Nigeria teaches you to plan long-term, to stay flexible, and to always expect change. Our strength lies in that resilience the ability to keep things running smoothly no matter the circumstances.

How do you see payZeep evolving in the next 5–10 years?

The future we’re building at payZeep is one where digital payments are as natural as handing someone cash. seamless, fast, and trustworthy.

Over the next decade, I seepayZeepevolving to beAfrica’s most trusted payments and financial enablement brand. Payments will remain our backbone, but our mission extends beyond transactions. We’re developing tools that help people manage their entire financial flow empowering merchants to grow, agents to earn more, and communities to thrive.

With the support of Cavista Holdings and our Chairman’s visionary leadership, we’re shaping the next phase of financial inclusion across Africa. The goal is simple: make payments invisible, but make inclusion visible everywhere.
