The Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Imo State, Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma, has enjoined the newly elected President of the Catholic Laity Council of Nigeria (CLCN), Sir Ambrose Obioha, to make unity his top priority.

Bishop Ukwuoma gave the advice on Wednesday when the new president paid him a courtesy visit.

Ukwuoma, a former Bishop Chairman for the Laity at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), urged Obioha to honour the confidence reposed in him.

The prelate highlighted collaboration and unity as foundational pillars for successful service.

National Chaplain of CLCN, Rev. Fr. Augustine Ifediba, said Obioha’s election marked the dawn of a new era.

He urged the new executive to work in synergy as a people committed towards good and noble objectives

In his remarks, Sir Ambrose Obioha noted that the visit was to formally brief his home bishop on his election as the new President of CLCN.

He made a firm commitment to justify the trust reposed in him and pledged to work diligently towards realising his vision for the council.

“I seek the Bishop’s continued prayers and guidance, especially for a harmonious working relationship within the Executive Committee,”
Obioha stated, highlighting his agenda for a united and effective administration.
