The League of Yoruba Youths for Advocacy and Good Governance has conferred the Yoruba title, “Omoluabi of Yoruba Youths,” on Alhaji Abdusalam AbdulKarim Zaura during its 2025 Yoruba Youths Summit held on October 30 at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja.

The honour was endorsed by 17 Yoruba monarchs who attended the event, with organisers describing the recognition as a celebration of character, community service and leadership.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President-General of the League, Amb. Adediwura Adesina, said the title of Omoluabi represents core Yoruba values such as integrity, humility and selfless service, and is reserved for individuals considered to exemplify those virtues.

According to him, Zaura, who is from Northern Nigeria, was recognised for empowerment initiatives and philanthropic activities that have supported young people across the country.

“The values of Omoluabi are universal and not limited to the Yoruba people. Anyone who consistently demonstrates honesty, respect, generosity and service to humanity deserves recognition,” Adesina said.

At the event, the group also expressed support for broader political participation and peaceful democratic engagement, while encouraging unity and inclusiveness among diverse communities.

The summit concluded with prayers by the attending monarchs and a renewed pledge by the organisers to promote national unity, responsible leadership and good governance.
