SOKOTO — The Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH), Kware, Dr. Sulaiman Baguda, has issued a firm directive to staff, declaring an end to complacency and the beginning of a new era of efficiency, professionalism and service-driven healthcare.

Dr. Baguda gave the charge during his maiden address to management and staff of the hospital on Thursday, challenging the workforce to meet the highest standards of service delivery expected of a national institution.

He said efficiency, modern skills and strict discipline would define the work culture under his leadership, stressing that all departments must demonstrate competence, transparency and measurable results.

The Medical Director tasked heads of departments to take full responsibility for the conduct and output of their units, noting that the performance of their teams would reflect their leadership capacity.

He urged staff to approach their duties with renewed commitment, assuring that the hospital would continue to serve as a national reference centre for mental health and specialised medical care.

While pledging his full support to staff in striving for excellence, Dr. Baguda emphasised that productivity and professionalism must be demonstrated by every employee.

He said his administration would prioritise innovation, continuous engagement and modern operational standards to significantly improve service delivery at the facility.

“This is to align ideas, inject fresh direction and build a system that guarantees high-impact results in how this facility responds to the medical needs of Nigerians,” he said.

Dr. Baguda reaffirmed that FNPH Kware remains a critical centre for research, training and mental health services, noting that the hospital is equipped with specialised manpower and modern diagnostic and treatment facilities.

He said such capacity must translate into improved patient experience and quality care delivery.

Dr. Baguda, who previously served in an acting capacity, was confirmed as substantive Medical Director by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in November, a development he described as a call to higher service.

He concluded by stating that the hospital is entering a new phase, one that must be defined by efficiency, discipline and measurable progress.
