LAGOS—Trial of former managing director of Finbank, Mr. Okey Nwosu and three other directors of the bank, continued, yesterday, before an Ikeja High Court, Lagos, with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, calling its second witness,  Mr. Joe Aba.

The witness told the court that his company, Springboard Trust Board and Investment Limited, was mandated by Finbank to buy some shares for some companies.

Aba, General Manager of Springboard Trust Board and Investment Limited, a subsidiary of Finbank, further told the court that his company bought about two billion units of shares of Finbank Plc, valued about N18 billion with the instruction of the bank’s management.

Led in evidence by EFCC’s counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacob, Aba said the shares were bought for seven companies in several transactions between 2006 and 2007.

The witness, who doubles as the Asset Manager of the bank, said the mandate given was official from Finbank and all transactions were to the bank, as no individual from the companies was involved.
