PORT HARCOURT—HOST Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSCOM, has enjoined the Federal Government to pay the 13 percent derivation directly to the oil and gas producing communities.

HOSCOM in a statement in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, by the media aide to the state chapter of the body, Mr Joe Kalu, said the communities would be in a better position to use the funds to drive developmental projects in their areas.

Calling for formation of Rivers State Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, RISOPADEC, the group said they had submitted a memorandum on the issue to Revenue Mobilization and Physical Commission, Abuja.

The group enjoined members of the body to be on ground to receive the Revenue Mobilization and Physical Commission, whenever, the officials come to the South-South region for public hearing on the issue and other related matters.
