Fidson Healthcare Plc has announced the appointment of two new female Independent Non-Executive Directors, Dr. Amina Mohammed-Baloni and Mrs. Hannah Emanehi Oyebanjo, in a move the company says will strengthen corporate governance and support its long-term growth strategy.

The appointments, approved at a recent Board meeting, take immediate effect and will be presented to shareholders for ratification at the next Annual General Meeting.

Speaking on the development, Fidson said the appointments underscore its commitment to diversity, expertise, and strong board oversight.

“We are pleased to welcome these accomplished professionals to the Board. Their wealth of experience and strategic insight will further strengthen our capacity to deliver on our mission,” the company noted.
Dr. Mohammed-Baloni, a physician and seasoned public health specialist, joins the Board with more than 25 years of experience across clinical medicine, policy and health-systems governance.

A Fellow of the West African College of Physicians and holder of a Master’s in Public Health, she is widely respected for her work in advancing maternal, child and community health.

She served as Commissioner for Health in Kaduna State, where she led reforms that improved health delivery, including the Zipline drone project for medical supplies, a pharmaceutical manufacturing partnership with PMG-MAN and the state’s notable COVID-19 response. Mohammed-Baloni chairs the Board of the Bauchi State Specialist Hospital and sits on the boards of SCIDaR and ARC-ESM. She is an alumna of Harvard Kennedy School, INSEAD and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Also joining the Board is Mrs. Hannah Emanehi Oyebanjo, Managing Director of Redwood Consulting and a prominent marketing and business transformation leader with over 30 years of experience.

She is credited with launching category-defining products for global brands and leading award-winning campaigns across sectors.

A former Marketing Director at GlaxoSmithKline and Colgate Palmolive, she recently joined the faculty of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

Oyebanjo is a recipient of the 2025 Nigerian Marketing Award’s Marketing Icon Award and WIMCA’s Lifetime Achievement Award. She holds a BSc in Chemistry, an MBA, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors.

Fidson said the new appointments reflect its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Africa and sustaining its leadership within the pharmaceutical industry.
