A member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye, has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to prioritise the reconstruction of the Odogbolu–Okun Owa–Obalende road in Odogbolu local government area of the state.

Adeleye, who is the Minority Leader in the Assembly, commended the governor for what he described as responsive and people-focused governance, said the deplorable condition of the road has made its rehabilitation an urgent necessity.

According to him, commuters and residents endure daily hardship due to the road’s poor state, stressing that once reconstructed, the route would function as a key alternative corridor, helping to ease the mounting pressure on the Sagamu–Ore–Benin expressway and improving connectivity across surrounding communities.

The lawmaker commended Governor Abiodun for consistently addressing issues raised on the floor of the Assembly, describing this as evidence of his commitment to grassroots development.

He cited the recent award of the 5km Itanrin–Molode–Sabo road project, as a direct result of his legislative advocacy and the governor’s prompt intervention.

“This is not the first time the governor has responded to a clarion call like this. Being in the opposition does not mean we should shy away from acknowledging good work. The governor acted promptly when I moved the motion on the Erinlu/Imosan/Imodi road, and again on the poor state of the FEGO road in Odogbolu. His pragmatic approach continues to ease the pains of road users across the state.”

Adeleye also expressed appreciation to the State Commissioner for Finance, Dapo Okuboyejo, describing him as “a good ambassador of the Ijebus.”

He commended the commissioner’s efforts in addressing infrastructure gaps in the local government.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that the Odogbolu–Okun Owa–Obalende road would soon receive similar government attention and urged the state to prioritise the project in the interest of the people.
