Ado-Ekiti—GOVERNOR Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, yesterday, threatened to drag his predecessor in office, Mr. Segun Oni to court , if he continued to parade himself as a former governor of the state.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti while addressing a pro- Justice Ayo Isa Salami rally, the governor said, ”In the face of law, Oni was never a governor of the state.
“The judgment of the Appeal Court was very clear and unequivocal that Oni was not validly elected in 2007 and was never a governor in the face of law because no law, either at the state or federal level recognises him as a former governor. And, appropriate step will be taken to ensure that those that are impersonating are prosecuted and brought to justice.”
Fayemi called on President Jonathan to rise above pettiness by rebuffing the dissenting voices of some “charlatans’ in PDP, who are kicking against Salami’s return.”
