Oyindamola Omonubi, a dynamic and results-driven financial strategist, was honoured with the Emerging Leadership Award by the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) during its 2023 Leadership and Innovation Summit held in Lagos in early April.

The award recognises young professionals demonstrating exceptional leadership, innovation, and influence in the fields of finance, strategy, and operations. Omonubi was celebrated for her transformative contributions to financial strategy, compliance, and organizational development across various sectors including technology, non-profit, and professional services.

While receiving the award, Omonubi expressed gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of strategic thinking and ethical leadership in building resilient organizations.

“This award is not just a personal honour, but a reminder of the power of strategy, discipline, and collaboration in transforming institutions,” she said. “Emerging leaders have a responsibility to not only excel but to elevate others, champion accountability, and align operations with vision.”

The Institute’s Executive Director, Dr. Grace Adebayo, praised Omonubi’s cross-sector impact, noting that her financial acumen and operational foresight positioned her as a model for emerging leaders in Africa.

“Oyindamola Omonubi exemplifies the blend of competence, creativity, and integrity that our institute seeks to highlight. Her track record—from her early days at KPMG to her strategic work at Smartwoods—demonstrates a leader who builds systems, not just solutions,” Dr. Adebayo stated.

A graduate of Robert Gordon University, UK, with a Master’s in Management, and a B.Sc. in Accounting from Redeemer’s University, Omonubi holds multiple certifications in financial analysis, grant management, and nonprofit accounting.

She has also served in senior finance roles at TopUp Mama, and Garage Mobility, earning recognition for forensic financial recoveries, cost optimization, and strategic forecasting.

Omonubi dedicated the award to “emerging female leaders in finance and strategy,” encouraging them to “lead with courage, curiosity, and conviction.”

With a career marked by continuous growth, technical excellence, and a passion for transformation, Oyindamola Omonubi continues to be a leading voice among a new generation of financial leaders shaping Africa’s economic future.
