Delta Poly confers fellowship award on Nani

The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Barr. John Obukohwo Nani, has been honoured with the prestigious Fellowship of Technology Award by the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara — the highest honorary distinction conferred by the institution.

The award was presented by the Rector, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, during the Polytechnic’s 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony held at its main campus in Otefe-Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to Prof. Ufuophu-Biri, the Fellowship Award is reserved for distinguished individuals who have made outstanding contributions to national development, especially in areas that promote sustainable growth and community advancement.

He lauded Olorogun John Nani for his transformative impact in the oil-producing communities, his visionary leadership at DESOPADEC, and his sustained commitment to public service. The Rector described him as “a worthy administrator whose contributions have transformed lives and institutions across Delta State.”

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Nani expressed deep gratitude to the Polytechnic for the recognition and dedicated the award to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, and the people of the state, especially those in oil-producing areas. He reaffirmed DESOPADEC’s unwavering resolve to drive equitable development and infrastructural growth in host communities
