Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s industrialization agenda remains one of the most progressive legacies in the history of Ogun State.

With a clear understanding of Ogun’s geographical advantage and its proximity to Lagos, Daniel laid the foundation for industrial expansion that continues to shape the state’s economic narrative today.

The flagship of this vision is the Flowergate Industrial Estate, located at the Sagamu Interchange, strategically positioned to access Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode, Ibadan, and Lagos. As of today, the estate boasts over 200 major industries, earning the reputation as Nigeria’s fastest-growing industrial cluster.

Daniel also facilitated the establishment of the Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone in Igbesa, a monumental feat that attracted nearly 200 companies and foreign direct investment into the state. Furthermore, he initiated the development of the Olokola Free Trade Zone and the proposed Deep Sea Port, aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s maritime economy.

The Kajola Transportation Free Trade Zone in Ifo Local Government was another highlight of his industrial blueprint, designed to integrate rail and road transport logistics for commercial growth. His forward-thinking approach culminated in the founding of the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport, a specialized aviation hub to facilitate agricultural exports and cargo handling, thus linking industry to global markets.
