BOMADI—Leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for former Deputy Senate President and party chieftain, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, in his efforts to unify and strengthen the party in the state.
The assurance was given during Omo-Agege’s Thank You Visit to the Ijaw-populated riverine local government area.
Hosting Omo-Agege and his entourage at St. Brendan College, Bomadi, the APC Chairman of Bomadi LGA, Hon. Kayode Tinaka, declared the Ijaw people’s firm commitment to his leadership.
“We are ever ready to support you. We will always stand by you, anywhere and anytime. Be assured of our total backing because Bomadians are eager for development under your leadership.”
Also speaking, Chief Amanah David, a party stalwart, stressed the need for unity at both the national and state levels, urging leaders to resolve internal disputes to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
“For the APC to win elections in Delta State, the leadership must work with a common purpose, settle internal disputes, and form a united front.”
Barr. Gabriel Yabaka, a chieftain of the party, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that reconciliation among leaders and followers was the key to electoral victory.
“We need unity, and I believe nobody is against reconciliation. But we must first sit at a roundtable to analyze why we lost the recent elections and make necessary corrections.”
He also urged the party not to overlook Omo-Agege’s capabilities in the next election cycle.
“Omo-Agege is a dominant figure in Delta State politics. The party at both national and state levels must not make the mistake of fielding another candidate for the 2027 elections. He has the qualifications, capabilities, and charisma to lead the party to victory.”
Highlighting Omo-Agege’s achievements, he added: “If you visit Delta Central Senatorial District, you will see the infrastructural transformation he has spearheaded. His human capital development initiatives are unmatched, surpassing even the performance of some state governors.”
Responding, Omo-Agege expressed deep gratitude for the 4,000 votes he received from Bomadi LGA during the 2023 gubernatorial election.
“I came here to say Thank You to the 4,000 Bomadians who voted for me. When people do something good for you, it is important to show appreciation.”
He also extended his gratitude to party members and non-supporters alike, stating that some may reconsider their stance in future elections.
Looking ahead, Omo-Agege spoke on the upcoming party congresses in August, emphasizing that only loyal and committed members would be elected into leadership positions.
“The party congresses will take place in August, and only those who genuinely believe in our party, those who are ready to develop Bomadi LGA, and those committed to winning elections will be elected as executive members.”
He further issued a stern warning to party saboteurs and defectors, vowing to purge the APC of disloyal elements.
“After the congresses, we will expel the saboteurs, the political traders, and betrayers to the PDP. I sincerely appreciate the warm reception from the people of Bomadi.”
Omo-Agege’s visit served to reinforce his influence in the region while setting the stage for a more unified and strategically positioned APC in Delta State ahead of the next general elections
