Couples have been advised to model their relationships positively through influences of another person’s actions and words.

Speaking at the annual Spice It Up event in Lagos, Olori Aderonke Erinle reiterated the importance of communications in marriage, adding, “communication is the key in relationship that no matter how, giving account of your day, like run into traffic, stop at market to buy some foodstuff makes you understand and connect yourselves more.”

She said: “Love has to be intentional in a relationship. It is a commitment to nurture for growth like tree planting that needed water to germinate. It makes you connect well.

“Tolerance and forgiveness is another causes of broken homes, to develop marriage, we are bound to make mistake and wrong each other hence, we should cultivate habit of saying sorry to ourselves and not to take ourselves for granted.

“Lovers and intending couples needed to have love at first sight to develop their relationship. There is friendship and relationship, when you fall in love, as years goes by in a relationship, you realise both of you have seen it all, hence friendship comes in, so friendship continues after love and that’s what keeps relationship strong.

“When the parents are in love, they look out for themselves, the children are watching us. Marriage is a smaller unit of the society, so, when the home is right the society becomes right. However, marriage is partnership, there is no boss, couples are into it together, sometimes when you wrong, you suppose to accept your fault and ensure not to repeat it.

Also, Aderonke implored celebrities to examine themselves and reduce egos that may lead to broken homes, saying, anything after camera should be treated with respect when they return home.
