BENIN—VANGUARD for Better Edo, VBE, weekend, commended the courage of former governor of the state, Prof Oserheimen Osunbor and the people of Iruekpen in Esan West Local Government Area of the state, for supporting the second term ambition of Governor Adams Oshiomhole to sustain ongoing development in the state.

VBE in a statement by its National Coordinator, Mr. Donatus Ossai, said it was heartwarming that Osunbor and his kinsmen put political sentiments aside by identifying with good governance and the ongoing transformation in Edo State under Oshiomhole.

According to the statement, “we commend Prof Osunbor and his kinsmen for the courage they had shown in supporting ongoing transformation and good governance in Edo State. It is very commendable that Osunbor shunned political sentiments to identify with the current governor and the ongoing development in Edo.

“What we need in Edo State today is a continuation of the ongoing transformation and not another mistake that could return the state back to the era of lamentations and regrets. Since the advent of the current government in the state, we now know that good governance is possible, so we have to join hands to sustain it.

“As Osunbor and his kinsmen had done, we call on other well meaning indigene of Edo State at home and abroad to support the continuation of the development in the state by ensuring that Oshiomhole wins massively on July 14 to continue the ongoing transformation in the state. As Osunbor said, he is in politics to touch the people and because Oshiomhole is touching his people, we have to support him to ensure he continue the good work,” he added.
