Ajadi
…hosts New Year festival
By Adeola Badru
A prominent chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Chairman/CEO of Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has called on government officials at all levels to prioritise the welfare of Nigerians in the upcoming year.
In a statement released on Monday, Ajadi highlighted the challenges faced by citizens in 2024 and urged for concerted efforts to enhance the living conditions of the populace as they welcome 2025 as his company is set to host a New Year Festival on January 1, 2025, aimed at providing entertainment and joy to Nigerians during this transitional period.
Ajadi expressed deep concern over the hardships that many families encountered in the past year, stating, “We should thank the Almighty God for keeping us until this time. The outgoing year has been exceptionally difficult for the average Nigerian, with the soaring costs of staple foods leaving many families struggling to make ends meet.”
He criticised the removal of fuel subsidies by President Bola Tinubu and the inadequate distribution of government palliatives, which he claimed, have exacerbated the plight of the citizens.
“It is troubling that Nigerians are now forced to rely on charity for basic sustenance, leading to tragic incidents, including the recent stampede in Ibadan that resulted in the deaths of over 35 children,” Ajadi lamented.
He extended his condolences to the families affected by these tragedies and urged the government to take immediate action to make food affordable for all citizens.
“I appeal to the President and state governors to focus on improving the lives of Nigerians as we enter the new year. Policies must be implemented with compassion, reflecting the blessings Nigeria has in its abundant resources.”
In conjunction with his advocacy, Ajadi’s Bullion Go-Neat Global Limited is organising a New Year Get-Together Funfair to celebrate the arrival of 2025 in style.
The event will take place in Ibafo, Ogun State, on January 1, 2025, starting at 2 PM as it will feature performances from renowned artists, including Alhaji Taye Currency, 9ice, GYC, Sil Bugatti, Femo Lancaster, and Starpee, along with popular MCs such as Kirikiri, Funke Oshodi Oke, MC Oba Theatre, and MC Odada.
Ajadi remarked, “This event is my small way of ensuring that people can enjoy the New Year festivities, despite the challenges we face. Let us come together to celebrate and uplift one another as we enter this new chapter.”
