Akubueze’s appointment as Senate President’s Chief of Staff justified – NPC

Noble Peace Club, NPC, of Nigeria has expressed satisfaction with the appointment of Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chinedu Akubueze, as Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, saying it is well-deserved.

NPC, in a statement, described the development as forward-thinking, saying Akubueze has, over the years, demonstrated astute capacity in discharging assignments of the various offices he had occupied.

Director General of African Writers Centre, Amah Amah, stated that Akubueze was a dedicated and committed public servant.

The statement reads: “The newly appointed Chief of Staff to the Senate President has shown loyalty in serving the country as a dedicated and committed Public Servant, who rose through the ranks to become the Clerk of the Senate. The NPC boss has no doubt that Barr. Akubueze would, as usual, deliver efficiency and positive transformation in his new assignment.

“Other members of the Board of Trustees of the NPC, who were present, took turns to extol the virtues of Barr Akubueze. Among them was Hon. Chief Ochi Tahill, who expressed excitement over the appointment, which he said is to a man whom the cap fits. In his brief remark, ACP Harrison Orurua also congratulated the new Chief of Staff and wished him well in his new assignment, urging him to remain steadfast as a great ambassador of the Organisation.

“Affirming that Akubueze is a rare administrator, Osita Opara averred that he has always stood out through dint of commitment to work, focus on tangible goals, and tenacity of purpose. Mr Chuma Ugbo, another trustee of the organisation who also spoke to AWC, described Akubueze as one who is compassionate and derives pleasure in service.

“Ugbo averred that Akubueze is a man of uncommon humility and thoroughness and affirmed that he still has a lot to offer the Federal Republic of Nigeria in service. In his contribution, Darlington Okereke noted that Barr Akubueze is a man of candor and commitment to work, as well as a fine public servant, who had always distinguished himself in any office he served.

“While expressing warm gratitude to the President of the Senate, Chief Dr Godswill Akpabio for the appointment, the NPC BOT members extolled the uncommon virtues of ingenuity of the Senate President in fixing the round peg in the round hole by appointing Barr Akubueze, who they described further as an experienced administrator.

“Akubueze assumed this new position on the heels of the recent appointment of the erstwhile Chief of Staff to the President of the Senate, Chief Barr Sylvester Okonkwo by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Director Corporate Services of the South – East Development Commission. Akubueze recently retired as the Clerk of the Senate after attaining the compulsory 60 years based on the civil service rule.”
