The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has called for unity among the sons and daughters of Yorubaland, including traditional rulers and practitioners of traditional beliefs, to advance the community’s development.

His appeal was made during a visit from the Executive Members of the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR), led by its President, Dr. Fayemi Fatunde Fakayode, to his residence in Lagos.

In a press release signed by Dr. Fakayode, the visit was intended to promote progress and peace in Yorubaland and Nigeria as a whole. He commended Iba Gani Adams for his continued efforts to foster peace, security, and harmony in the region, urging him to maintain his dedication to these goals.

“Our visit is focused on advocating for cooperation and unity among Yoruba leaders, particularly traditional rulers, to enhance peace and development for our people,” Dr. Fakayode said. “We commend your unwavering commitment to the progress of the Yoruba nation, and we believe you will continue to be a key figure in shaping its future.”

In response, Iba Gani Adams expressed deep respect for the ICIR, recognizing its integrity and commitment to its values. He encouraged traditional worshippers to collaborate with the organization’s executive members and emphasized that unity is vital for the progress of the community.

“I urge all Yoruba people around the world to come together in the pursuit of peace, harmony, and security for our homeland,” he said. “This call also extends to the Obas of Yorubaland, urging them to unite for the advancement and security of our communities while promoting our rich cultural heritage.”

Iba Gani Adams further highlighted that promoting cultural heritage can play a significant role in boosting the economies of nations, urging traditional rulers and adherents of Isese to lead by example.
