2025 Budget: Buni to construct access roads in 178 Political Wards in Yobe

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has said that Yobe State Government will construct access roads in all the 178 Political Wards across the state to further increase accessibility and improved living standard of the people.

This is contain in the 2025 budget tagged “Budget of Economic Consolidation and Poverty Reduction” presented by Governor Buni to the State House of Assembly for consideration and passage into law.

The State Government has budgeted the sum of N176.774 billion (55.1%) for capital expenditures focusing on road projects, completing of 17 ongoing and starting 11 new ones under the capital expenditure of the Ministry of Works in the proposed N320.811 billion budget.

“Government would construct access roads to link all the political wards in the respective local government areas.

“Similarly, government would next year award contract for the remaining part of Tran-Saharan road to complete linkage of the entire part of the state from Nguru-Kanamma”. He said.

While shedding more lights on the ongoing road projects, Governor Buni said “a total sum of N17 Billion was released to fund the construction of Nguru-Bulanguwa, Bulanguwa-Kumagannam, Kukuri-Chikuriwa-Dawasa, Jaji Maji-Karasuwa, Garin Guna, Gashua-Masaba, Chumbusko-Tagali and Chumbusko-Karasuwa Galu roads, and the dualization of the Damaturu to Kalallawa road.

“Others are the construction of Garin Bingel-Danchuwa road which has been completed, the ongoing Bukarti-Toshiya, Fika-Maluri, and Danchuwa-Jajere, Kanamma Junction-Yusufari, Gujba-Ngalda, as well as the rehabilitation of Geidam-Bukarti, and Damaturu-Gujba roads”. Buni added.

The amount according to him, also covers expenditure for the construction of the four Damaturu City Gates, township roads and drainages in Ten Local Government Council Headquarters across the state, as well as erosion control along Gadaka road, among others.
