Oko Christian Inya, a renowned researcher and expert in infectious disease, has made significant contributions to the field of global health, particularly in the areas of infectious disease research, health economics, and policy development.

He has a strong educational medical background, including two Master’s in Public Health and Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Birmingham. He also has a diploma in Health Research from the University of Lancaster and as an Infectious Disease Postgraduate Researcher position at the University of Glasgow, Inya has developed a unique understanding of the complex relationships between health, economics, and policy.

Dr Inya’s research focuses on the economics of infectious diseases, including cost-effectiveness analysis, economic evaluations, and health policy analysis. He has been involved in research with the National Institute of Health Research at the University of Birmingham.

His work has also taken him to various institutions, including the London School of Economics, the University of Oxford, the United Nations Economic Commission in Africa, and the World Health Organisation.

As a Co-Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee for the Sub-Saharan Africa Brain Health Initiative, Inya has demonstrated his commitment to improving brain health in Africa.

Inya’s expertise extends beyond research and policy development. He has also worked as a medical officer, vaccination coordinator, and project manager, demonstrating her ability to apply her knowledge in real-world settings.

He founded a non-profit organisation to improve the health and education of underprivileged children in Africa. He has led several impactful projects, including free surgery for 100 children in Nigeria and has authored a book that has been approved by the Ministry of Education and has helped thousands of students in their career.

Through his work, Inya aims to improve health outcomes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. His work has far-reaching implications for people’s lives, particularly in Africa. His research and policy recommendations have the potential to improve health outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and enhance the quality of life for millions of people.

By advocating for evidence-based health policies and practices, Inya is helping to ensure that healthcare resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. He is National Health Policy Advocate of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

Dr Christian has received several awards from Community leaders, State Governor, Nigerian President and United Kingdom Government for his impactful works in healthcare.   

 He is a member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, Royal Society of Public Health, Association of Public Health Physicians of Nigeria, World Public Health Nutrition Association and Health Systems Global. He also belongs to the African and International Health Economics and Policy Associations, International Society of Vaccines, as well as the Nigerian and British Medical Associations.

Dr Inya is a shining example of an expert making a significant impact in the field of global health.
