Women Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) Southwest Zone, has urged the Church to recognise minority voices, especially that of women in decision making.

Speaking through its Chairperson, Most Senior Mother-in-Israel, Prophetess Odunola Raji-Adebesin, the group stressed that women deserve due recognition and positive appraisal.

In her words: “Without mincing word, the position of women in any social organization cannot be underrated and overestimated because. By the divine work of God, women are so important because of their meaningful contributions to the success of any association, organization, family, church, and community.

“Women are precious ornaments and magnificent creatures that are always ready to sacrifice whatever they have for the growth and development of wherever they find themselves. Hence, the need for them to be duly recognised.”

Continuing: “I want leaders at all levels to consider women in decision-making, especially in the sharing of positions either political or spiritual because what a man can do a woman can do better.”

On the 10th anniversary of the group, Themed, ‘Repositioning Women For Growth and Development’, scheduled for Wednesday 14 to Sunday 17 August at the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, LAWNA Territory, Ketu, Lagos, Raji-Adebesin said that the theme of the four-in-one event was influenced by the situation of the country and the prevailing outdated perceptions about women’s roles.

She further disclosed that the anniversary will be celebrated alongside women empowerment, awards presentations and investiture of dignitaries.
