United Kingdom-based, Nigeria-born gospel music artiste, Phebe Olajubu is out with her much-anticipated seven-track album titled “Gratitude”.

The sonorous artiste stated that every song on the ‘Gratitude’ album was inspired by an experience which led her to espousing a grateful heart to God for all the many benefits bestowed upon her and to others. 

The songs include Oghene doh, OverwhelmingLove, El-Roi, Yahweh, Power of God, Jesus reigns (Jesu Joba) and ‘You deserve my worship’, all written by the inspirational singer. The songs were produced by Tea Production.

Phebe stated that the theme of the album was a life experience. “I have been through some difficult situations, and I know that I only made it through by the mercies of God. It is through my expression of thanksgiving to God through songs that the tracks in this album were birthed. Even if I have ten thousand tongues, it wouldn’t be enough to thank God, who sees me through all the ordeals, keeps me, and has been everything to me,” she stated.

Phebe stated that the good Lord has not only saved her but so many others who trusted in Him. “I believe that these songs will bless everyone who listens and cause all to be grateful to God for His mercies and amazing grace,” she says.

The Ishan (Edo language) and Yoruba-speaking artiste added that her songwriting inspiration is divine and gotten through God’s word, situations or just random thoughts. “For example, the song Jesus reigns was birthed while I was at work and I just started hearing Jesus reigns in my life continuously. On the other hand, ‘El Roi’ was birthed from situations of feeling unseen to the assurance in Christ that he sees me. So does most of the songs have their own story. Oghene doh is an urhobo language which means thank you God. The funny part is i actually don’t understand urhobo but i just heard the song in my spirit and was amazed that God could give me a song in a language I don’t even speak.

“The Gratitude album is inspired from the place of a grateful heart to God. When you’ve been through certain difficult situations and you know that you only made it by the Mercy of God. I express myself to God through songs and that’s how I came up with these tracks. Even if I have ten thousand tongues it won’t be enough to thank God who sees me and has been everything to me. I believe that these songs will bless everyone that listens,” says the graduate of Tai Solarin University.

Phebe Olajubu who possesses two Masters degree, University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, believes music should come from the heart and therefore chose the gospel music genre to express herself and deliver a message of Love from God that can heal all hurts and make the difference.

The UK-based artiste who grew up in Lagos, Nigeria added, “I have been singing since I was a little child. My family members always tell me stories of how i used to sing as a young child since I could speak. I have always been in the church choir. God has called me into this ministry and He doesn’t call perfect people, rather He qualifies the called. I always strive to give my best in everything I do.

“One day, we will stand with God and give account of how we used the gifts dnd talents that was given to us. This is my drive everyday and I know that by Gods grace my music will touch the hearts of those that it needs to reach”.

Phebe Olajubu stated in an interview that Mercy Chinwo and Sunmisola Agbebi’s personality and music inspire her. She released her first single ‘Miracle Working God’ in January 2023. The Gratitude album which is now available on all music streaming platforms, have seven tracks namely
