A Nigerian label, Sasi Entertainment, has voiced happiness about the signing of its first official artiste, Iseoluwa Friday Aruwayo, better known as Finess, saying his unique sound would fill the void in the music industry.
The label’s Chief Executive Officer, Edobor Humphrey Osamudiame, who announced Aruwayo’s signing, said the development marks a significant turning point for both the label and the rising star.
Expressing his elation, Finess said: “I feel so happy to be part of the Sasi Entertainment family. We’ve been working underground for a while and now that it has been made official, this is where we take the music to the fans.”
Osamudiame, however, described Finess as a diamond in the rough, saying: “We’ve been nurturing and developing Finess for some time now and there is no better time to unveil his talent to the world. I feel there’s a void in the Nigerian music industry and Finess is here to fill that void with his unique sound.”
Also speaking, music executive, Peter Okhide, described Finess as “a one-of-a-kind talent. Finess ticks the boxes of what it is to be an artist. He has the talent and the Sasi Entertainment platform will make sure his talent is well utilized.”
Finess’ journey has been an intriguing one. Originally hailing from Erinje in Ondo State, Nigeria, he grew up in the town of Okitipupa. Finess channelled his artistic talents into drawing before discovering his passion for music. In 2017, he officially made the leap into the music scene, taking on the stage name “Finess.” This name, he reveals, was inspired by one of his earlier drawings he made many years ago. Since then, “Finess” has become synonymous with the young artist, and has resonated with the people around him.
The official signing took place on April 19, 2024, marking the beginning of a promising partnership between both parties.
The arrival of Finess at Sasi Entertainment marks the beginning of a new chapter for the artiste and the label. With an arsenal of music including more in the works, and the Sasi Entertainment team behind him, Finess is well on his way to filling the void identified by the label. The Nigerian music industry should brace itself, Finess is a name to watch.
