5 things to know about Lizzy Anjorin

Lizzy Anjorin is a Nigerian actor and film producer who has featured in many popular Yoruba films.

The actress was recently accused of stealing gold on the Lagos Island market, but she denied the allegation. 

Below are five key things to know about Lizzy Anjorin: 

1. Lizzy Anjorin was born in the Badagry area of Lagos State, to a Christian father and a Muslim mother.

2. She gained admission to Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2003, where she participated in student activism and graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Transport Planning and Management.

3. Anjorin’s acting career shot to prominence in the films Ise Onise and Arewa Ejo in 2009 and Owowunmi in 2010. She won the Best Actress Award at the Young Achievers Awards in 2012 for Kofo Tinubu, among other awards to her credit.

4. In September 2019, she was involved in a rift on social media with her colleague, Toyin Abraham. She accused Abraham of accusing her of trafficking cocaine, leading to her being searched at an airport. She, however, apologised to Abraham publicly after the incident as the information was false. The feud was settled by Bolaji Amusan, president of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria.

5. In 2017, Lizzy Anjorin converted from Christianity to Islam and adopted the name Aishat. Moreover, in August 2023, she renounced Islam and asked her fans to stop addressing her with Islamic titles during an Instagram live session.
