ENUGU- Enugu State Police Command Tuesday charged all political parties, their aspirants and supporters in the state to be law abiding as they embark on campaigns for the local government elections coming up on Saturday.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, advised all the political parties to play the game according to the rule and “avoid any act or omission, language and statement capable of causing problem in the state”.
Amaraizu warned that the command would not tolerate any “act or omission capable of disrupting the peace being enjoyed by the good people of Enugu State.”
He disclosed that the command, in conjunction with other security agencies in the state, had mobilized its security apparatus to ensure that the peace of the state was secured before, during and after the forthcoming local government elections.
“Similarly, members of the public are advised to go about their normal lawful businesses and report promptly to the security agencies about any threat to peace in their environment as the command in conjunction with other sister security agencies in the state has mobilized its security apparatus within their powers to ensure that the peace of the State is secured before, during and after the forthcoming local government elections.
“The Commissioner of Police wishes all the political party candidates, supporters and members of the public peaceful and violent free elections,” the statement added.
