Inspector General Hafiz Abubakar Ringim has shaken up the police, redeploying state 10 commissioners. Under the new dispensation, some new commissioners are to take over commands of some states.

Mr. Chris Olakpe, formerly CP Bomb Unit, is now Commissioner of Police, Kogi State while Mr. Theophilus Kayode, formerly CP ICT Department, moves to Edo State as CP. Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, CP, Lagos State, takes command in Bayelsa State; Mr. Abdurahman Akano, CP Plateau State, goes to Yobe State; while Mr. Haruna John, one time Commissioner of Police, FCT, is to move to Benue State as CP Command.

All the postings take effect from 16 January, 2012.
