Shooting Stars captain, Shakiru Lawal has voiced his joy over the Oluyole Warriors stay in the Nigerian Premier League for another season.

Speaking to Inside Out Premier League at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan after their slim 1-0 win over visiting Lobi Stars of Makurdi, he thanked the Sports Commissioner for his support but insisted that more needs to be done to take the club to the deserved height.

“I feel so good that we were able to retain our Premier League status for another season after the long pressure of relegation battles. We gave our heart out for the game and it satisfies us as the players.

“With what the Sports Commissioner is doing for us now, I believe that we would not struggle like we did this season but will compete for a slot in the continent. By the special grace of God, I am optimistic that we would get it only if the government continues their gesture” Lawal said.
