14 countries accept Niger Insurance’s traveller’s policy

OVER 14 countries across the globe have accepted Niger Insurance plc’s traveler’s insurance policy as a reputable document to enter their countries.

Dr Clinton Uranta, Managing Director of the company who told Vanguard in Lagos recently, stated that the underwriting firm wishes to spread its traveler’s policy to over more countries.

Uranta assured that Niger Insurance would continue to discharge its responsibilities with enhanced service delivery to its teeming clients around the globe.

Some of the 14 countries that have accepted Niger Travelers Insurance policy include: France, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Russian Federation, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Denmark, Greece and Ukraine.

Vanguard learnt that more countries, especially those in the Schengen area are planning to embrace Niger Travelers Insurance too in due course.

Niger Travelers Insurance covers provide indemnity when in transit in other countries in the event of death arising from an injury, or natural causes, disability, medical and repatriation expenses, and loss of luggage.

The policy however covers the insured against death, in the event of death resulting from accidental, violent, external and visible means which is solely independent of any other cause, the insured will be indemnified by the company.

The Niger Insurance boss further said that should the insured’s luggage be lost in transit in the course of an international flight, the company will indemnify the insured subject to the limit of the amount stipulated in the schedule of policy.

Besides, the policy covers permanent total disability which means that the company will compensate the insured in the event of bodily injury caused by an accident which is independent of any other cause that will result in permanent total disability.

In the same vein, should bodily injury resulting from an illness during the insurance period require treatment by a duly qualified medical practitioner; the company will compensate the insured in respect of such medical expenses incurred.

It was against the backdrop that Niger Insurance promised to compensate the insured in the event of valid death and permanent total Disability Claim.

Niger insurance boss however pointed out that the company’s Travelers Insurance covers do not apply to the following: loss that occurs as a result of earthquake, tidal waves, suicide or murder, while the insured is under the influence of alcohol

Also not covered by the policy, Uranta elucidated, are injuries sustained during fights or brawls, loss resulting from war, invasion or an act of foreign enemy, injury occurring during sport of any kind or athletics and accident or sickness resulting from pregnancy, childbirth or miscarriage.
