Tension in Mosogar Kingdom as monarch ostracises chiefs

By Godwin Oghre
Sapele— Crisis is brewing in Mosogar Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State following the  suspension of some first class chiefs and political players in the kingdom by the Ovie of Mosogar Kingdom, HRH Udurie I, Samson Omene, and his council of chiefs (Oguidion).

Vanguard gathered that the suspension of the affected chiefs was due to alleged “unfavourable acts of the said chiefs to cause crisis and work against the Ovie and the development of the kingdom.”

The suspended chiefs are immediate past chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Dr. Wilson Omene; Chief Joe Omene, President-General, Mosogar Development Union; Mr. A. Bobor; a former Housing Commissioner in the state, Mr. Oghenedoro Ugbune and Dr. Omonigho Ogbakpa.

It was gathered that the chiefs had to be ostracised from the kingdom as “they have been fanning the amber of disunity and causing breach of peace” in the kingdom.

Senior Political Adviser to the state Governor and Otota (spokesman) of the kingdom, Chief Ighoyota Amori, confirmed the development to Vanguard on phone.

He added that Ovie’s action received the blessing of the number one Chief of the Kingdom, Chief P. Ojarikre and the people of the kingdom.
