UGHELLI – Delta State Waste Management Board, weekend, said the state government had earmarked N176 million for cleanliness. Chairman of the board, Chief Olori Magege, said this at Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area, shortly after the inauguration of the Agbarho Kingdom chapter of Urhobo Development Association, UDA.
He said plans to initiate a waste-to-wealth programme aimed at generating employment for over 30,000 youths in the state, had reached advanced stage.
According to him, waste in the state would be converted and recycled into usable items, adding that the board had been educating and enlightening Deltans on the need to cultivate the culture of cleanliness.
He said the state government was acquiring more waste disposal and management equipment for effective waste management in all parts.
