OWERRI—The 27 local government councils in Imo State have shared a total sum of N3,628,556,870.20 as the August 2011 Statutory Allocation.
Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Jerry Okolie, disclosed this while addressing newsmen after the Joint Allocation Committee meeting in Owerri.
Mr. Okorie said the statutory allocation from the Federal Government stood at N3,123,949,818.39, while Value Added Tax accounted for N50,460,705,181.
After making the statutory deductions, Mbaitoli Local Council Area smiled home with N108.9 million, Ngore Okpala N104.2 million, Owerri Municipal N103.4 million and Ahiazu Mbaise received N95.9 million.
On the losers’ chat included Nkwerre and Onuimo local councils that received N58.4 million and N60.9 million respectively.
