The Chairman of Bariga Local council Development Area, Hon Akeem Omoyele Sulaimon, who is recontesting for the seat in the October 22, 2011 LG election has promised to embark on massive youth empowerment and development.
While flagging off his campaign in Bariga, Sulaimon said the council will intensify on its poverty alleviation programmme with a specific focus on youth employment and empowerment, as he declared that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop.
He told his supporters who included the physically challenged, traders,artisans, Community Development Associations, CDAs, Community Development Committees, CDCs and various professional groups to return the ACN into office and continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
The LCDA chairman promised to embark on massive infrastructural development of Bariga LCDA in the area of roads construction, renovation of school, upgrading of health centres, among other programmes within the available fiscal allocation to the council.
Amidst cheers and jubilation by the teeming supporters at the carnival-like rally, Hon. Sulaimon stated that the opposing political parties could not pose any serious threat to the ACN in the coming elections in view of the outstanding performances of the ACN both at the State and local government levels.
He commended the leadership of the ACN in the state, and at the national level for their vision and uprightness in steering the ship of the party to greater heights, adding that their national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has proved to be a visionary and well focused politician with a magic hand for success.
Earlier, at the rally, the chairman of ACN in Bariga, Chief Sikiru Banire (a.k.a Obama) had presented Hon. Sulaimon to the people as ACN chairmanship candidate for Bariga LCDA in the October 22 LG election, and urged the people to remain loyal to the party and vote massively for the ACN candidate.
