Edo ACN crisis: Ize-Iyamu faction suspends Odubu

By SIMON EBEGBULEM

BENIN CITY- THE faction of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Edo State, led by the South South Vice-Chairman of the party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has passed a vote of no confidence on the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Pius Odubu.

The members of the party in Urhonigbe South ward 8, in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state, led by the ward chairman, Mr. Sunday Aibueku, alleged that the deputy governor had failed to attract any meaningful development to the community despite the fact he hail from there.

But contacted, the state chairman of the party, Mr. Thomas Okosun, said the leadership of the party was not aware of the suspension. Also the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr Kelly Odaro, described the suspension as untrue, adding that “those people are not even known to the party, besides being from Urhonigbe South, where the deputy governor is from. So how can they say they suspended him. That is rubbish.”

Announcing his suspension from the party, which took place at the Urhonigbe South headquarters, Ize-Iyamu regretted that the people have nothing to show for his eight years at the House of Representatives and three years as Deputy Governor.

He faulted the alleged suspension of the former member representing Orhionmwon constituency II in the state House of Assembly, Mr Etin-Osa Ogbeiwi, by the Odubu faction, saying, “he is the only person who had brought development to this community.”
