UNN, Zik’s wife, Atiku mourn Ikejiani-Clark

Staff and students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, have expressed shock over the sudden demise of Prof. Miriam Ikejiani Clark of Political Science Department and former minister of state FCT. She died at the National Hospital, Abuja at about 4.30am on Thursday 22nd September, 2011.

Also, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar Friday described the late ex- Minister of state, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Professor Miriam Ikejiani-Clark as accomplished intellectual.

The wife of Nigeria’s first president, Prof. Uche Azikiwe expressed rude shock which devastating. According to Prof. Azikiwe, her death is numbing and reminds her of King Solomonfs admonition that life is transient and vain.

Ikejiani-Clark’s UNN premises looked very quiet with her military driver named Lamido sitting lonely at the boys quarter of the duplex with about three cars, a metallic ash Camry, a deep blue 504 saloon and a light green Mercedes packed at the garage yesterday.

Her driver Lamido said that madam complained of malaria last week to her husband Clark who was at home and both decided to travel to Abuja for better medication.

I drove madam to Abuja and returned to Nsukka to pick her passport to travel to Canada for treatment only to be called on phone that she is dead. I am here waiting for directive from madams husband, he said.
