‘It’s our great defence against Enyimba’s great attack’

Heartland striker Chibuzor Ozurumba has fired a big warning to Enyimba after he scored thrice in test games ahead of Sunday’s Federation Cup final.

The ex-Enyimba star scored a brace against non-league side Pat FC in 5-0 whitewashing Wednesday and followed that up with a goal against another non-league outfit Collins Edwards the following day.

”Yes, we are fired up for the final game against Enyimba. It will be a very interesting match that will showcase the best of Nigerian football,” a delighted Ozurumba told MTNFootball.com

“Luck will to a very great extent play a part for the winners of Sunday’s game and we have been having it all along.

“Enyimba have a fearsome frontline that can destroy any team but not Heartland because our defence is solid as a rock despite the absence of Chibuzor Okonkwo, who will surely miss but we have a capable replacement.

“Also, (Ikechukwu) Ibenegbu is back in midfield for us after featuring at the recent Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy. He added: “We are very ready to go for the trophy. I will be there to do my job, which is score goals to take this trophy back to Owerri.”

Heartland opponents, Enyimba, on the other hand, have been training in Otta, near Lagos. They will jet out of the country on Tuesday after the final on Sunday to keep a date with Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg on October 2. This will be the Nigerian champions second visit to Morocco as they also tackled Wydad city rivals Raja in Casablanca in a group game, which ended 0-0.
