The Nigerian Army has dismissed, one of its soldiers, involved in the kidnapping of Chelsea and Nigeria’s international, Mikel Obi, one Private Jaduwa Thlama from the force.
Making this disclosure, Thursday,in Abuja, at a briefing by the Joint Security Agencies Information Managers Committee under coordination of Brig-General Rafeal Isa of Army headquarters, Director of Defence Information, Col Mohammed Yerima said that Nigeria Army have dismissed Private Jaduwa Thlama, one of the soldiers found culpable in the kidnapping of Pa Michael Obi, father of Mikel Obi of Chelsea football club, and handed him to the Police for prosecution.
The Committee disclosed that his accomplice, Sgt. Victor Essien was referred to higher prosecuting authority in line with Nigeria Army ethics due to the fact that he is a senior NCO and needed to go through the trial process.
