Proprietress advocates family friendly school

The proprietress of Dartforte International School, Princess Mrs. Titilade Ijiwole has advocated the idea of a family friendly school. She made the suggestion while addressing the eleventh graduation ceremony of the school. She said that a family friendly school is expected to make learning more interesting and enjoyable for the children.

The proprietress defined a family-friendly school as “One in which the parents and the school are actively and constantly involved in the physical, mental, moral and spiritual development of the children “she added that parents should visit the school regularly so that they can even work with the teaching staff to increase the interest of children in learning.” It is important for parents to keep in mind that we are partners in progress.

If children get to know that their parents are interested in their work, the children get more excited and encouraged. Parents can even explain some topics to the children. They should not just sit back and watch the school deliver the result” Mrs. Ijiwole said the school is taking note of the efforts of parents who have been participating actively in the activities of the school.

It is in this regard that some parents got various gifts for participating constantly in school activities. Some of the gifts presented to the parents include pressing board, television set and pressing iron.”

We will continue to give gifts to parents who are always showing interest in the activities of the school. We know that a family friendly school is the latest trend globally and we are grateful to those parents who are always working with the school for the sake of the children.

Mrs. Ijiwole emphasized the role of parents in the all round development of the children adding that without the parents and the children no school can stand. She disclosed that the school is confident that by the grace of God the graduating students will excel in life.

Mrs. Ijiwole also advised the graduands to commit themselves to spiritually and morally balanced way of life and uphold the core values and traditions of the school.

They should also set good examples wherever they maybe. Her words,” when you leave here today, try to keep in mind the word of God already imparted unto you, remember the core values and tradition of the school, celebrate what you have achieved and be conscious of how you would set good examples for others to emulate”.
