Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia has the full blessing of former Eagles captain, Austin Okocha for his decision to drop Vincent Enyeama from the team’s forthcoming matches against Guinea and Ghana next month.
Goalkeeper Enyeama was labelled a “trouble maker” by Siasia after
he led a handful of players to question the team’s travel plans to Madagascar earlier this month.
“It is a step in the right direction and he’s got his reasons for not inviting him,” said the former Nigeria skipper.
“If we are talking about players being a role model, it is not just on the pitch. He should do that more off the pitch than on the pitch.
“The job of the coach is to take decisions and that is why he is paid. So whatever decisions he makes, the board will back him up. Siasia knows better and we should respect his decision”, added Okocha
