Stakeholders meet over APGA crisis

By CHIDI  NKWOPARA, Owerru
The crisis of confidence rocking All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Imo State, has deepened as the party’s leadership has accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of factionalizing and concocting all manner of allegations against the party leadership at all levels.

The disturbing revelation was made in a press statement signed by the State APGA Chairman and Secretary, Prince C. C. Nwaka and Mr. Eric Mbadugha respectively and made available  to VCanguard in Owerri.

Meanwhile, stakeholders will today (17/9/2011) meet in Enugu at the residence of its ailing leader, Chief Emeka Odumegwu- Ojukwu to try to work out a reconciliation pact among the contenders in Anambra State.

According to a source, the outcome will serve as template for the resolution of a similar crisis in Imo State where the party is also in control.

The meeting is holding at the instance of Bianca, Ojukwu’s spouse who has been providing a canopy for followers of the party in the absence of her husband who has been in a London hospital since last year.

Expected at today’s meeting are the Governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, the embattled National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh, the leader of APGA caucus in the National Assembly, Senator Chris Anyanwu and the leader of the party Caucus in the House of Representatives, Hon.Uche Ekwunife.

The personality clash between the governor and the chairman is believed to be the genesis of the leadership crisis rocking the party.
