ENUGU-Major stakeholders and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ezeagu local government area of Enugu State under the aegis of Ezeagu Central Forum, ECF, Wednesday endorsed the party’s South East Women Leader, Mrs. Ify Ozoani as its sole candidate for the council’s chairmanship election billed for December this year.

The leaders made up of councillors, ward chairmen and secretaries, women and youth leaders as well as other major stakeholders from Ezeagu Central led by Chief Oliver Ani took the decision after a stakeholders’ meeting held in Enugu.

A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and endorsed by Hon. Tony Okoye, Chief George Nwajuania, Emenike Aniebo as well as Chief Ani maintained that after a closer look at the candidates jostling for the sole chairmanship ticket, they settled for Mrs. Ozoani in view of her sterling leadership qualities.

According to the communiqué, the leaders apart from resolving that the next council chairman would come from the Central area of the council, also maintained that only one candidate would be produced from the area.
