KANO-A team set up by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, was Wednesday pummelled by political thugs allegedly working for the state in Kano as the workers’ strike entered its 4th day Wednesday.

Several members of the monitoring team who reportedly sustained injuries in the process were treated in private hospitals and discharged.

The incident occurred at both the Audu Bako Secretariat and Gidan Murtala areas of the city, thus triggering pandemonium among the unsuspecting public who were initially unaware of what was happening.

Hundreds of thugs had laid ambush in a government building and descended on the labour leaders when they arrived the place to assess the level of compliance with the strike ordered by their unions.
