Eguavoen leads ex-Eagles to Gulder 5-A-side draw

All is now set for the national finals of the Gulder 5-A-side soccer tournament starting this Wednesday at the National Institute of Sports (NIS) complex in Lagos after the draws for the 14 teams that would play in the final series were made in Ikeja.

Coach of the national U-23 team, Austin Eguavoen, led three other ex-Internationals and local league professional football stars, comprising Lawrence Alabrah, Siji Lagunju and Lawrence Orairo in picking teams that would play at the knockout stage of the 2011 Gulder 5-A-side Football competition.

According to the draw outcome, Golden FC of Lagos play Kwara FA Ilorin in the first game, followed by the Antennal FC of Ibadan and Pensioneers FC of Enugu match, which in turn would be followed by the duel between Royal Eagles FC of Oleh and Raymond King FC of Makurdi.

In the fourth game, nter Enugu FC confront Bethlehem FC of Port Harcourt, while Match 5 sees Mcjeff FC of Port Harcourt testing the might of Moonstar FC of Ijebu Igbo.

 

The ticket for Match 6 will be won between City Rollers FC, Abuja and Sholly Babes FC, Lagos. The last of the knockout battles will be between Gunners FC of Ilorin and Carry Go Football Club of Benin.

The competition will be rounded off on September 10 with best overall team going home with N5Million.

Second best team will get N2Million and the third best team will smile home with N1Million.
