In this Interview with our Correspondent, Ash Hamman bares his mind on many issues which centre both on a local and international scope. Let’s look at it from this Excerpt:

Q. Who is Ash Hamman?

Ans. Ash Hamman is a musician, entrepreneur, businessman and master chef who is very much driven by passion.

Q. You took a long hiatus from music and came back with your hit single CRAZY LOVER, how did it feel to see the big brother housemates sing it over and over and express how much they love the song?

Ans. Yes I did, I had a lot of projects I was working on outside of music but regardless music is me and I am music, the passion for music is forever, I kept working on different sounds and experiments, taking my time to create, infuse these ideas which are what u hearing now and gonna be hearing a lot of.

The Big Brother thing was such an amazing experience and the housemates even made it better, especially Amaka and Deji. I literally had scores of people sending me videos and blogs awash with the clips, so yes, it felt great.

Q. You once performed at the miss world beauty pageant in London, in front of dignitaries like the British Royal family, the late Stella Obasanjo, The Bruces and others. How did that feel?

Ans. I felt like wow, is this for real? I wasn’t even ready. I went to do a sound check, next thing I heard was “you going live now”. I was like God almighty are we doing it like this? Lol. It was amazing, the Gala and Grand finale. It was actually meant to be Usher, but something happened and Ash Hamman had to replace Usher, well Lil Ash as I was called back then.

Q. Dubai, The UK, USA or Nigeria; which has been your favourite place to live.

Ans. Naija is always home but Dubai was mad fun and I had the Dubai King of RnB treatment on the next level, but the US and UK were also really amazing.

Q. How did you come about the title, DUBAI’s King of R & B?

Ans. I didn’t, I was the King of RnB out there, the middle-east and North Africa, top 10 highest selling artiste and it was for years. As well as a lot of achievements while I was in Dubai that still have not been overtaken by anyone else. #King follows lol

Q. Are we getting a music video for Crazy lover anytime soon?

Ans. Definitely, it is Crazy Lover season, of course, a nice music video and a couple of remixes.

Q. Afrobeats has become a global phenomenon, which Afrobeats artiste is topping your chat at the moment?

Ans. Don’t mean to sound cocky but I’m the Afro RnB artist that’s topping my chart right now.

Q. Should we look forward to any collaboration between you and any of Afrobeat’s biggest names?

Ans. Yes some sick collaborations are already done and some more amazing ones are in the pipeline and about to burst out of your speakers. I won’t mention any names, let’s enjoy the ride.

Q. Do you have plans to release an album or EP soon?

Ans. Yes, I have an EP ready but we going in a different direction before the EP drops, watch the space

Q. Any future plans for shows, tours or concerts over Africa and Nigeria specifically?

Ans. Yeah, of course, a lot of shows, tours and the whole 100 yards, I want to do shows differently.. everyone will see and understand soon starting with something for the ladies.

Q. “Besides being called Dubai’s King of RnB, you are also been called the African king of RnB. Why RnB?

Ans. Nice title too, I guess cuz I’m still singing haha like singing with the afro sounds .. AfroRnB is my Genre.

Q. You are quite the charmer and the ladies love it. How do you handle the loads of female attention you get?

Ans. Ladies … I love you all so much. I get so much inspiration from women, women are all emotions in one so u can only imagine … endless inspirations if u just listen and watch them and talk with them. I love my mother and sister, so respect for women started at home.

Q. How do you hope to inspire upcoming artistes in Africa and World over?

Ans. Hopefully through my music, my lyrics, the things I write on social media about life and struggle and so much more … if they listen to me Ash Hamman they will be inspired. Crazy Lover is now on all streaming platforms.
