PDP chairmanship: Group endorses Bamanga Tukur

BY BEN AGANDE

ABUJA—A Pro-Jonathan campaign group, Rebuild Nigeria Initiative, yesterday threw its weight behind the candidacy of former governor of old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, for chairmanship of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming convention of the party, saying his wealth of experience will serve the greater interest of the party.

Addressing newsmen, National coordinator of the group, Prince Hope Rex Lawson, said their support distract the President, having seen it all in life.

“After a careful survey of the contending forces for the position of the party leadership, we are, therefore, convinced that one man stands out and that man is Dr Bamanga Tukur, the president of  African Business Roundtable, with well established global track records of achievements,” he said.

According to Prince Rex Lawson, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the running of the party, effectively and efficiently, to provide the needed foundation for good governance and national transformation.
