Managing Director of 3SC, Mutiu Adepoju is hopeful they will come out of relegation zone but added that it will be achieved if the team perform well in the remaining four matches of the season

“Actually we are five points away from the relegation zone and we still have four matches for the season to end. We pray that at the end of these remaining matches it will be to our favour. We are not yet saved until the last match, that is when we will know our fate but in all, we will strive to do our best and ensure that we escape relegation this season,” he said .

On the frequent shifting of the league, Adepoju said: “ the running of the league this season has been too hectic and it is certainly not good for the game, because it affects both the players, coaches and even the management of the various clubs. I suppose the league started in October last year and now we are in August, yet the league has not ended while other countries that started shortly before us last year have ended theirs and are preparing for the resumption of the new season. Definitely this is really not go for football. With the way it is, it will get players exhausted and also affect their performance when the league resumes for the concluding part.

Adepoju nicknamed “headmaster” in his active playing days said that , “I think the NPL and NFF should dialogue in order to find out a lasting solution to this, so that we will not be facing this kind of situation over and over again. If we have a stable football calender, there won’t be frequent shifting of league matches.

The league is supposed to be continuous and not inconsistent as it is now. I believe if the league is properly managed, we will not have problems like this. NPL and NFF should deliberate on the way forward if the league must be better next season,” he said
