Students were advised to put up courage and a positive attitude towards their academics, to help them achieve their goals in life. This was disclosed recently by Mrs. Ijeukwu Ekobay at the 2010/2011 valedictory service speech and prize giving day at Command Day Secondary school Ojo, Lagos.

In her lecture, Mrs. Ijeukwu Ekobay urged students to pick a role model in order to begin to write their success stories. Giving them tips on how they can reach the top in their chosen fields, she maintained that they must work hard to make positive difference in the society and in the world at large.

In her words “ The common factor to reach the top include goal setting, diligence, perseverance, resilience, discipline, self control, perfection, spirituality and a reading culture which basically most student shy away from.

Her words: “Take a look at the lives of some great achievers some of which are of this generation, some have reached the top; others are close to the top; some others have seen the top and are heading towards it.

This will certainly encourage you to strive towards excellence and to be the best that there ever was in your field of life”

Mr. Umar Nasri, the Lieutenant Colonel Commandant, congratulated the five hundred and ten graduating students, as he advices them to know the kind of people they associate with, as they pass on to another level of study, where they would be more exposed to the society.

He also thanked the parents and guardians of the students for their moral support in giving their children the best education “ We appeal to the parents not to relent on their efforts at this crucial period when these graduating students are on the threshold of a rewarding academic career in tertiary institutions of their choice,” he said.

Prizes where awarded to best students in various sections, as Akinola James emerged best student overall, Adewale Omolola emerged 2nd best student and Jimoh Nurudeen as the 3rd best student.
