FBN Capital, the Investment Banking and Asset Management subsidiary of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, has been awarded the 2010 Best Syndicated Loan in Africa on Oando’s N60bn loan, and the 2010 Best Bond in Africa on Bayelsa State Government’s N50bn issuance, at the EMEA Finance 4th Annual Achievement Awards in London in June.
The awards were presented during the Achievement Awards Charity Dinner, at a ceremony which saw representatives of corporate organizations, banks, multilateral agencies and advisers from the EMEA region.
Taiwo Okeowo, the Executive Director and Head of Investment Banking at FBN Capital said the awards are a recognition of FBN Capital’s exceptional capabilities in the Debt Capital Market, and are a strong credit to the company’s expertise in providing intelligent financing solutions for clients.
“We are honored to be recognized in the international community for our work. Our goal as the investment banking arm of the business is to become the market leader in advisory services and win more of such awards in the future.”
In 2009, FBN Capital won EMEAFinance’s Achievement Award for the Best IPO in Africa, and the 2010 African Banker Award for the Best Debt House in Nigeria.
