30 corps members on internship in Germany arrive today

ABUJA – At least 30 members of the National Youth Service Corps sent on training in renewable energy in Germany for three months are due to arrive today.

The corps members with bias in Electrical Electronics were selected from across the country and sent on a training programme sponsored by the Energy Commission of Nigeria, ECN, in collaboration with German government in April 2011.

Sources at the NYSC, weekend, also explained the rationale behind the innovative foreign internship for selected serving corps members introduced by the current administration, led by the Director General, Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga.

A document on the training programme made available to Vanguard indicated that, the idea was to bring about renewable energy through the creation of awareness in the development of alternative source of energy, especially in the rural areas.
