Who is MC Mouth Pizz?

My real name is Favour O. Isibor. I am from Ishan West LGA of Edo State. I am the first from a family of Seven .I had my primary education at New Discovery Primary School and Secondary education at Benin Baptist High School. I am a 100 level Business Administration student of University of Lagos. I love the art which I picked up as a borrowed course and I plan to take it to a much higher level.

Presently, I run a troupe called Brave Word Entertainment which houses some vibrant and creative youths who are making good use of their talents in dancing, music and stage drama . I came to Lagos in 2004 to fine tune my creativity but before then, I had started stage works five years before my admission into UNILAG. Right now, I believe that I have something different to show to the world.

Like I said before, why I love art is because there is so much it to do to make the industry progress. So, after graduation I plan to go for my Masters after which I will take up a career in acting and preferably, in Nollywood.. The Brave Word Entertainment has been on for the past three years now and its primary objective is to teach people drama and what art is all about.

The major vision of the Troupe is to positively engage school leavers, and through that means, discourage them from roaming about the streets. In the troupe, they are taught what and how their raw talents can be explored and directed to positive uses.

Since you are still in school, why the rush to become a producer?

I started acting as a child. I anchored shows, stage performances in the churches, schools and even debates. So, when I left secondary school, I decided that instead of whiling away time at home in the name of waiting for admission into the university, that I should have something to keep me busy, something that has more to do with my talent. With the help of a friend called, Tony who was a theatre art student at the time, I went to Giny Dance and Drama, a troupe owned by Gloria and Nobert Young .There, they trained me for three years.

Any shows yet?

So far, the Troupe has been involved in training children at the SOS Children Village in Isolo, Lagos. Last year, we had a training programme for them which lasted for six months and it was for free. We still have contract with some other schools where we teach dance, music and drama. Basically, what we do is to visit schools, perform their chosen literary works and this has revealed how far the students are coping with their recommended literary texts.

Recently, we rehearsed Our Husband has gone Mad, which is in the WAEC Syllabus. It was staged in Abuja, Ibadan etc, and the shows enlightened the students on play reading and acting . Right now, we are doing a play, Women of Owu by Femi Osofisan .

What has been the challenges?

It has not been easy since I established the Troupe. We lack sponsors for projects, and most often, I have to combine work with school activities. It has been difficult because during each show I make sure that something reasonable comes out of it to finance the next. Coming up with cast is another challenge. Sometimes, an artiste will try to frustrate you.

Future plans?

I always try to get involved in activities that will broaden my knowledge, so, last year, I went to World Class Compare Academy at GRA Ikeja. The academy taught me how best to package events and public speaking, and that has given rise to Mc Mouth Pizz on the street, a documentary CD due for release. The CD exposes the situation of things in the country and how frustration can lead to a lot of vices, especially among the youths. I am also packaging a Soap Opera on HIV infection. All these are waiting for sponsorships.
