No more business as usual, NNPC GMD warns

BENIN – GROUP Managing Director, GMD, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Engr. Augustine Oniwon, has warned that it was not going to be business as usual in the corporation as the corporation  had embarked on transformation that would lead to growth of the petroleum industry.

He  vowed that he will not supervise the collapse of the petroleum industry, rather “we will supervise the growth of an industry that is not only self-sustaining but one that would boost the economy of the country.”

Represented by the Group Executive Director, (Exploration and Production), Engr. Andrew Yakubu, during the prize presentation of 2nd NNPC Upstream Golf Tournament in Benin City, Edo State, weekend,  Oniwon, urged staff of the corporation to plant seeds that would make Nigeria grow and to make the economy grow from strength to strength.

He said, “just like any industry and also government, NNPC has devised transformation as we believe that it is only by this spirit that we will grow.It is not going to be business as usual because if we do so, we will collapse.”
